Responsibilities
Ø Responsible for all low cost countries sourcing activities for raw materials in Asia-Pacific. Identify opportunities through data mining in spend global spend reports, get aligned with buying parties in the north America and Europe, obtain specifications, research suppliers, on-site inspection, negotiate pricing and trouble shoot in operation stage.
Ø Continuously seek for innovative ways to improve productivity, operational efficiency, cost saving, EHS performance and revenue generation in conjunction with the LCCS activities.
Ø Manage one of the major commodities for Asia-Pacific including strategy development, strategy alignment with global business, contract negotiation and strategic supplier relationship management to obtain and maintain competitive cost advantage. Major commodities include but not limited to: Methanol, CO, Ethylene, Utilities (steam, electricity, cooling water, etc.), Butanol and Ethanol, Industrial Gases (O2, H2 and N2).
Requirements
Ø More than 3 year experience in LCCS for raw materials.
Ø Extensive specialty chemicals industrial knowledge.
Ø Familiar with quality control and EHS audit procedure.
Ø Good communicator and good influence skills.
Ø Be able to discuss/converse with global teams in the evening.
Ø Experience of buying raw materials outside of China.
